5 Kiss

5. KYSS

Han tog hende varsomt om livet.

Hun hæved sig op mod ham

— og han så ikke mer, tænkte ikke mer;

kastet sit hvide, nøgne legeme over ham,

trykket ham krampagtig.

Vi kysset hverandre længe;

5. KISS

He took her gently about the waist.

She pressed herself up against him

—and he could no longer see, no longer think;

trees and air vanished.

He felt as if warm lips were upon his throat,

as if a wet, cool cheek were against his,

and his lips slipped softly into hers. She pressed

him toward herself,

kissed him on the neck, the head, the eyes.

She nestled up to him,

threw her white, naked body over him,

squeezed him convulsively.

She had never been with him for so long

—he begged her not to go—

he was more aroused than ever before,

he wanted to, had to embrace her again,

feel her kiss again.

She was warm

and I felt her body close to me.

We kissed each other for a long time;

it was absolutely quiet in the big studio.

I pressed my cheek against hers and stroked her hair.

Her cheek was burning.—“Darling, say something,” I said,

but she did not answer.

I felt a burning tear on my hand.

I looked at her—her burning eyes

were staring and full of tears.
